We managed to get a catch up with Scott Tomlinson ahead of this Saturday’s match v Selkirk RFC. Scott joined the coaching team last year during the pandemic and is looking forward to the season kicking off.
Here is Scott’s account of the pandemic months and his outlook on the coming season….
“It’s clearly been a challenging couple of years with Covid-19, but I’ve been hugely proud of the resilience shown by the Jed-forest Club, Players and Committee. I’m personally looking forward to being part of this Premier One campaign this year. I have been equally delighted by the younger players who have stepped up from Jed Thistle. In trying times recently they have been a beacon of enthusiasm and showing a huge amount of respect for the Club. I think we as coaches are all looking forward to seeing no less than 6 of them make there debuts this weekend for Jed-forest 1st XV”
“What is also important to me is the fact that I’m just one part of an outstanding coaching and management team. To continue working with them is a privilege and inspires me to do the very best I can for the Club in the coming season”
“With a strong support for our first home game of the season against Border rivals Selkirk, here’s hoping for a good home win this coming Saturday”
